SD Studio was engaged to design two display houses for two lots of different sizes in a new suburban . The houses were required to achieve a 7 star rating using passive solar design techniques.

		Belair House Client Private Building Area 400sqm Due for completion in 2009 The brief was a solar passive design family home to accommodate a couple and two children to be built by the owner's bricklayer father - from recycled bricks. SD Studio worked with the client to establish the siting and massing of the house to get the best orientation for sun and ventilation. Non-traditional in layout, this courtyard home addresses the street with a private courtyard and expresses the tactile warmth of the re-used bricks.

		Torrens Park 2 Client Private Building Area 400sqm A speculative design for a new land subdivision in Torrens Park, Adelaide, the client wanted to show prospective buyers a design that incorporated a significant tree and the slope of the site.
		Kangaroo Island 3 Client Private Building Area 500sqm Due for completion in 2009 In collaboration with Frank O'Brien Architect, SD Studio provided design options for a large family house on Kangaroo Island overlooking the beach west of Kingscote.

		Torrens Park 1 Client Private Building Area 630sqm Due for completion in 2009 SD studio consulted on the facade design of a client designed house in order to pass the encumbrance provisions of the title for a contemporary design and energy use requirements. The project achieved the approval of the encumbrance committee and given provisional planning.

		Two type houses ClientPrime Building Company Building Area House 1 196sqm Building Area House 2 225sqm Due for completion in 2009 The scheme for two speculative type houses is part of a new community development in South Australia’s riverland district. Each house is designed around the concept of a “trombe” wall, a massive wall that runs through the centre of the house, exposed to the sun in winter to store heat and shaded in the summer to normalise the large temperature swings. The houses are 3 bedrooms and have two facade options for each floor plan . SD Studio also provided the landscape plan.
