Belair House The brief was a solar passive design family home to accommodate a couple and two children to be built by the owner's bricklayer father - from recycled bricks. SD Studio worked with the client to establish the siting and massing of the house to get the best orientation for sun and ventilation. Non-traditional in layout, this courtyard home addresses the street with a private courtyard and expresses the tactile warmth of the re-used bricks. |

Two type houses ClientPrime Building Company The scheme for two speculative type houses is part of a new community development in South Australia’s riverland district. Each house is designed around the concept of a “trombe” wall, a massive wall that runs through the centre of the house, exposed to the sun in winter to store heat and shaded in the summer to normalise the large temperature swings. The houses are 3 bedrooms and have two facade options for each floor plan . SD Studio also provided the landscape plan.
